Things have finally kicked into gear, and now... I get to sit back and enjoy the finale of Gravity Falls (for the first time! I know, late to the game). Let me share what has happened so far!

The biggest and most exciting announcement is that my co-created comic series is out to purchase. Issue #1 had a massive reception -- we sold out of signed copies and half our stock was bought in a day. We're amazed by this response to a project that has been brewing for 3 years now, and we are so happy to continue moving with this.

If you haven't checked it out... what are you waiting for? Meet Billy Hurst, a teenager turned superhero in the wake of a worldwide event. He's riddled with ADHD, has a tumultuous relationship with his older brother-turned-guardian, and is figuring out what these newfound powers mean for him and his city. It's written by my friend and creative partner A. F. Ricci, and illustrated completely by me! Drop-Kick Comics presents AMPLIFIED.

Secondly, you may recall my spooky sci-fi audio adaptation that I was working on... well, I finished it -- in time for Halloween! Check out THRUM, an excerpt of the book Thrum by Meg Smitherman. I illustrated many different pieces for this, so if you're following my social media, you'll have a chance to see that close up soon.

I'm really pleased how this turned out. Kevin, as usual, did a wonderful job voice acting in this, and I think my acting wasn't too bad either. In the future I'd like to create more of my own sound effects, and maybe I'll do something more longform. If you watch it, leave a comment and let me know what you thought!

I ended up letting go of Inktober this year. I was in a group where we had sent in our creations in the past, but it became a bit of a void as everyone else was busy with work and other things. I instead moved my drive to the aforementioned projects, and I continue to write songs in the meantime.

After all that, I am planning to hang tight, drink apple cider, and try to relax until the U.S. election is over. I voted early and plan to spend election day with my family. It's been very disheartening to see the state of affairs and see how close the race is... if you haven't voted, please do. Make your voice heard.

(And remember -- we're not voting for the perfect candidate, we're voting for the one we'd most like to argue with! If we were voting for the perfect candidate, we would have ranked voting. Uh oh, don't get me started on ranked voting. I love ranked voting. Okay, that's all. ...I really like ranked voting.)
